"BARON"

Baron is a very extraordinary dog. I received an email about an "aggressive" Dane.

Well I agreed to take him and never expected the amount of why Palena mail. I mean even to the point of why rescue an aggressive dog when there are so many "nice" dogs. The answer was simple - I like to work with the aggressive dogs. Many rescues take in "nice dogs" I like showing animals that are labeled aggressive that love is ok and that kindness is good too. I also believe that all aggressive dogs are taught the aggressive and can be trained out of it and have a very good life. Well after all the mail I arranged for Edel Mendes . a very good friend and someone I would trust with any of my dogs to help me with him should I need it. Little did I know the overgrown lap dog that was on the way to the Sanctuary. How he was every labeled aggressive I will never know. This dog is one of the smartest, gentlest giants that has ever graced our gates. Much the same personality as my Hercules.

Baron came in loving everyone as you will see below. The greatest test was taking him and Rex one of my rottweilers who does have a bite record and was to be put down to our new property in Frostproof Florida. He and Rex became very fast friends - which is not easy for Rex. They played together and slept together. Baron felt he had to be the co-pilot and tell us where to go so I let him. They then took over one of the beds in the RV and slept together. Baron followed me around on the tractor and told me which was to go and even had a dance lesson up there. They gave us an amazing trip. Both were behaved like real troopers and helped us to have an enjoyable three days of work.

Baron had some sight issues and is having his eyes tested. He is very obedient and very loving and loves to play. Loves to eat as well. He is on Natural Balance as he needs to gain about 20 pounds.
