A plea for help with a dog the shelter did not want to put down and who had been given a bad rap

BUDDY

I recieved a call and an email about a two year old "trained" bloodhound that needed help.  He was in a shelter and the shelter loved him and did not want to put him down.  He had been "trained" for search and rescue and had done well until he bit the officers wife.  Many things did not make sense to me until I recevied his paperwork.  It was then that I saw why this dog had gotten the way he was.  I read in the report hand written by the "owner" that they had used a police tazer on his nose for discipline - it then went on to say that "buddy will act like he is horribly sick, but ignore him as its an act.....he will go a day or two without eating but jsut ignore him ...this is his way to get attention....and then the part that got me was "he does not like women"  One page said how great he was with everything including cats ...the very next went on to how mean he was.  I can only say that my truth of this dog is totally different.  We have had Buddy on a leash walking through the yard of dogs with no issue. When he left MN to get here he was with a woman and ended up spending three days with her with no issues and he was loose with her dogs.  When he got to Ga he spent the next three days with another woman and man with no issues then he was brought half way down here by two women who loved him dearly...then he rode four hours home with me uncaged with no issues, when we got here Damien my kennel manager met him and walked him through a yard of dogs into his kennel with no issues.  Damiens wife came to meet him the next day with no issues.  Buddy has been here two weeks WITH NO ISSUES.  He is at least 15 pounds underweight which we are working on and he is very friendly with everyone.  It will take time to get him to trust but this big boy will and he will be happy.
