A Special Rescue

dedicated to Elise, Flavia and Susie and their undying devotion to cats

In one week we received two sets of cats.  The first Elise and Flavia had a part in.  Elise was part of a huge rescue that took in around 50 cats.  These cats were similar to puppy mill animals.  They had not been treated correctly and many had Feline Leukemia - The little girl above we names after Flavia.  Flavia came from another rescue that Susie was involved in.  This rescue was a tough one for me and needless to say the Sanctuary helped in taking in 38 cats, 8 dogs, and a rabbit from someone who should never have had animals.  Flavia was so matted she had to go to the vet to be shaved.  She was not happy about it but we are sure she was happy about getting the matts embedded with urine and feces off her.

This is Lisie named after Elise.  This is one of the mother cats that Elise took from the breeder.  Her and another mother like her has five kittens between them when they reached me but no one could tell who was the mother of who - so they have a communal relationship with Lisie being the most dominant in the mothering department.  Violet tends to ignore the kittens.  The kittens were in horrid shape - mostly bones and all with slight respiratory.  One died the second day here.  The others are now thriving and getting into everything they can.

This is little Mignonne the tiniest of all the kittens and one we really had to struggle to keep alive.  Thankfully he has pulled through the worst of it and is now playful and happy.

This is Neville the one male in my group.  He is another of Elise's rescues and a real sweetie.  He was very shy at first but is a hand full now - he demands his attention and even now while trying to do this web-page he is climbing all over me brushing his tail in my face to get attention.

Ojas is one of Susie's rescues.  We are unsure what happened to her eye but she has been checked with the vet and also had to be shaved - she likes to sit on the air conditioner behind my back and pat at my hair and give it the occasional grooming.

This is little Susiebell - she is very shy.  She is the smallest of the little silver kittens that belong to Violet and Lisie and is growing daily.

This is Lady Lai - she is growing in leaps and bounds and loves to pounce on your feet.  She is shy until she gets to know you or it is treat time then she makes herself known

And this is Trouble - very aptly named - he gets into everything - he is also about three times the size of the other kittens and the only male kitten of Violet and Lisie.  He will climb up your legs attack your hair and swat at your nose in about five seconds then cuddle in your lap like he has done nothing.  He is the most outgoing of them all.

Bella is the true lady of the group - she is dainty and very finicky and very lady like - she loves the little dogs and loves to cuddle with Ang'Jolie and Evan.

Violet is camera shy and has yet to take a good picture.  But I will sneak one in.  The kittens will soon be ready for new homes and I am thankful to Elise who went in and dealt with the owner - Susie who allowed the Sanctuary to help in the rescue of the other animals and Flavia who did so much driving I am sure she will never get in a car again.

Well we got a picture of Violet and some of our other feline babies here.  Look below to see how cute they all are.
