We thank each and every person that has donated, volunteered, fostered, transported, adopted and prayed. Without your support none of the animals above would be alive. Some came to us healthy while many others came to us half dead. We work hard to give quality of life to all.
Through the past five years we have been through much. Four hurricanes hit us in two years destroying much of our property but we stood strong and will one day rebuild. Whether we were heading to New Orleans to help in Katrina to get hit by Wilma only a few months later, heading to Georgia to help with animals put down by heartstick or gas, or working with the kennel breeding dogs to get them into homes or pulling from our own shelters to help those dogs no one would take we have stood - not always in the way we wanted, at times having to haul water to water 400+ animals in 50 gallon drums as the hurricanes had taken our electricity, to sometimes praying for the next days supplies. Our animals have never gone without care thanks to many of you , never gone without a days food and never ever gone with out love. When I look at the numbers above I get one second of pride at the many people who have made it all possible, then my heart sinks as I know that the numbers we saved are not even close to a fraction of the ones that were not saved. I pray one day for it all to end and know that without the people that have surrounded me and kept me going none of the ones above would have made it. I think to how just two weeks ago 42 cats, 8 of them nursing moms, 2 of them ready to deliver and the rest kittens under 12 weeks were in dire danger of being put to sleep, the shelter called me and together with many other people we got them all to safety. Two of them delivering in Cindy's home. They are now going to be on their way here - not because of me, but because so many people felt they had a right to live and worked hard together, rescue and shelter, to make it happen. I think about the many breeders in Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas that work with us. They have been through much with rescue and I am thankful that they trust me to find homes for their dogs despite the adversity within society and rescue about commercial breeding dogs. It is my honor to have their trust. I think about the great fundraiser parties such as our Howl-o-ween Party that were done, the many people I have never met who take the time to do online fundraisers for us, my dear friend Polly who has helped so many of my dogs with vet bills and transport, my dear friends in so many states and rescues who all pull together to make sure we all get as many saved as we can. My love and my heart and my animals lives all belong to you.
