| 1/5/05 The headlines in the Sun Sentinel read Neglect charges likely after activists rescue 5 malnourished horses (click on link to read story). I read the story and was appalled. I decided to do what I could to help these horses. |

| This little mare was so skinny that she had no body fat or muscle.
She unfortunately did not make it. The seven month old foal did
not make it either. There are three horses left. Of course
we all hope that the law will give the strongest of sentences, but to be
honest our first goal it to get these animals healthy and into loving
homes. Please take the time to send $5.00, $10.00 or more to The
SPCA of South Florida. Also please go to their page to see the
stories on these horses. If we all work together this
can work. I hope also on this page to keep up to date with the
horses and the work that Laurie and the others do. If
everyone chips in a little it will not take long to get them all back to
being happy loving horses. The SPCA has many wonderful horses and
ponies and even donkeys for adoption. If you are looking for a
horse - look there first. Please go to
http://www.spca-sofla.org/ to
read more on these horses or to make a donation. Please feel free
to contact
laurie@helpthehorses.com for more information and also feel free to
write a thank you to Ms. Torres for the great job she did in covering
this story.
ggtorres@sun-sentinel.com We are truly thankful that she stayed with
this to help make the public see what goes on with animals. Two
more horses also went into the SPCA during this time both in bad shape.
Again I pray that everyone will send just a little to help. As an update there are three more horses in this grouping that we must help. A bag of food - a bale of hay - a few dollars send to the SPCA. Roy has sent me a couple of pictures I would like to share with you. These other three horses have a great chance and we need to help and then pray they find homes - please if you have any questions - contact Laurie or Roy http://www.spca-sofla.org/
