The Janie Rose Nursery & Infirmary is now in place. Thanks to the contribution of Janie Rose in memory of her two sweet babies Icicle and her mommy Snowball the nursery has a playpen and crib and much needed supplies. Also thanks to the constant efforts of Debbie Lynn and Tracey we now have ten more beds that can be used to house our newborns - or those with medical needs. Janie has a great love of animals as was shown in her own ownership of her sweet babies who have now crossed to the rainbow bridge and smiles down on her mom and waits patiently for her to walk over the bridge and again be joined with her. There is no doubt in my mind that both Icicle and Snowball smile down at their mommy knowing that her love for them allows others to have a better life and have a chance to survive and become part of a family of their own.
Below are the current animals in the nursery and infirmary as of August 20, 2004

These are are three little doxie girls that were dumped into my SUV during the Charlie storms. They were full of fleas and ticks and dehydrated. They are all recovering well and doing well - to read their story click here

And of course everyone knows T'kai our little baby we have nursed from the second he was born. You can read his story by clicking here.

And then there is little Miho we collected from the Animal Clinic we did on June 26, 2004 - starved - full of worms and basically a walking skeleton...Miho is now being fostered and adopted by Dimitri. It has been found Miho has heartworms for which he is being treated as well as his surgery he will need for his testicle that never descended.....you can read his story by

And Tux. Our little chick who was beaten up by the others and a mess. He is doing fine and loves when his little friend T'Kai comes to play with him
8/1/04 - Tux has moved out to the chicken coop. We are trying to teach him that he is a chicken and not a human. Its hard going but he at least looks at the other birds if nothing else. Although in his own cage to protect him he is watching he chickens and we hope to be able to put him in their coop with them soon.

Isabella is a sweet little girl rescued from Animal Control. She is sweet and loving and gets along well with all of the other babies.

Noah, Moses, Flora and Fawna are four little five week old Pitt puppies that we took out of animal control. Their mother had been euthanized and there were scheduled to be. They are sick with upper respiratory infections and were full of fleas. They are being treated. To read their story click here
All of these animals more than likely would not be alive today if it had not been for the care they received. That care was made possible by the generous donations of Janie Rose and the beds donated by Tracy and Debbie Lynn seeking donations for us. Our love goes to them and to all that support the work done here at the Sanctuary. If you would like to help care for any of these animals by making a donation please do so by clicking here.
