MILAGRA

What a doll she is.  As soon as Loretta (one of the most committed people I know in resue) contacted me I knew that we had to help her.  She looks perfect in the picture above but the pictures below will tell the story of horror this little girl has lived through.  They are graphic pictures so be forewarned.  One day Milagra was in a car riding with her owners.  They were driving very fast.  For whatever reasons they opened a window and threw her out.  Her first Miracle (English for Milagra) was that she survived that.  Then Loretta stepped in.  Milagra was so badly hurt that she had to have her tail amputated and the vet said he has never seen such a case of road burn and rash.  Loretta paid for her vet bills and asked if I would take her.  One look at her and how could we refuse.  Milagra was brought home today.  She is rooming with Zeus for a few days but has met Special Ed.  (another horrid abuse case www.sanctuaryanimalrefuge.org/specialed.htm )  For Eddie it was love at first site (see picture below).  Milagra will be available for adoption BUT only to the most patient and kindest family we can find.  The horrors of what she has been through have been enough.  She deserves to live her life in happiness and love.  She is very afraid of people and very very shy and with good reason.  She is sweet and loving and I have been blessed with lots of kisses tonight.  Please help stop animal abuse.  Get involved.  If you cannot own a dog donate to a rescue that you know works to stop abuse as most do.  It does not have to be the Sanctuary it can be any rescue.  If you have a special animal you love contact me I will get you in touch with a rescue.  All rescues survive and help animals with donations.  $5.00 a month can truly save a life.  If you see an animal needing help, being abused or abandoned - take a second to call the police - or a rescue.  Although none of can remove an animal from property we can surely help to get the ball rolling to help the animal.  In 8 days we have gotten Special Ed the baby beaten with a bat until he is brain damaged and Milagra this little girl.  On a yearly basis most would be surprised at the number of animals that any rescue takes in that has been abused.  Please help us put an end to their suffering.  I have listed a few rescues that might interest you if you have a specific breed you like - its a great way to help an animal if you cannot have one - I believe that all rescue should work together.

Wolf-Dogs - Shy Wolf Sanctuary truly has my heart - Deanna and the rest of the staff  work hard to help these animals who are often bred and then mistreated - Recently rescuing several dogs, pups and pregnant moms from one locations where they were living in filth and their own excrement they strive hard and work hard to help, save and hopefully place these animals.  There were several pregnant moms and pups in this location and they have truly taken on a load of expense to save these babies.  Please visit www.shywolfsanctuary.com or contact Deanna wolfmoonlight@swfla.rr.com

Loretta of "St. Martin's" is a saint to all rescues - she has been watchful over several of us making sure we get meds and shampoos - she gets animals and pays for their vet bills so they can go into rescue - she spends day and night fighting for animal rights.  Please contact Loretta800@aol.com if you would like to help her.  Over the past year Loretta has helped the Sanctuary with about 16 dogs - most have been placed into loving homes.  Had it not been for her love and commitment to animal rights all of them would have been put to sleep - She is responsible for saving both Special Ed and Milagra.  Two of our miracle babies at the Sanctuary.

Puppy Mills need to be stopped - Jean a friend of mine is the founder of Puppy Mills Rescue.  Please visit her site at www.puppymillsdrescue.com  or contact Jean at embereab@comcast.net   Jean recently helped the Sanctuary by keeping Maytag at her home for two weeks.  She lovingly cared for her and her 10 pups until she was able to be moved up here.

These first three pics are Milagra after the accident - there was no way to save her tail

The burns were so deep on her abdomen they went not only through skin but muscle as well

Milagra's first day and her meeting Special Ed.

She has to be bandaged for the next ten days.  She is on medications and her tail had to be amputated.

Her tail after surgery

This little girl should not have to be going through this.
